AMP Ensemble
about amp
The ensemble explores new means of extending traditional instruments with analog synths, embedded sensors, video tracking, laptops and custom software. Their improvisations borrow from traditional and electronic musics to create new sound worlds composed of found sonic objects and abstract electronic timbres that span textures from sparse ambience to sonic masses. The AMP Ensemble is committed to exploring innovative forms, experimental music, improvisation, and collaborative composition. It is comprised of a diverse group of faculty and students from ASU's Arts, Media and Engineering program, with backgrounds in performance, composition, media, dance and computer science.
