Technology Development Studio

The Technology Development Studio is dedicated to both research and education with a focus on the development of hardware and software tools for sensing, HCI, and media creation. Please visit our projects page for more information about projects related to multimodal sensing, tangible interfaces, embodied sound, and robotic arts.

The studio offers hardware development platforms for embedded control systems, FPGA design, DAQ based I/O analysis, and PCB design. Its tool set is further enhanced with user interface and analysis software such as Matlab, MS Visual Studio, Max/MSP, Futurebasic3 and MPW for cross platform development.

The lab is equipped with several workstations with PC's and tools for circuit design/implementation, microcontroller programming, and testing. Development boards and tutorials (e.g - Basic Stamp, Rabbit Core embedded ethernet) are available for teaching hardware development skills. The lab also includes a studio for testing interaction and performance with developed technologies.
